Favorite Foundation – FIT Me by Maybelline NY

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

HEY GUYS!

So for this post I just wanted to share with you my favorite foundation. I have always struggled with foundation because when I buy from drugstores or big department stores like Walmart I can’t find the perfect shade! It became very stressful for me so I decided to shop at places like Sephora, where I would have the opportunity to test the product before I purchased. The only issue with that is that IS EXPENSIVEEEE! *in one of my thousand accents* I went through a phase where I really liked the NARS brand, but it took me some time to realize that some products are simply NOT for me, and that I should move away from only purchasing a brand because I like it to actually purchasing products that are for me (skin tone, skin type, formula, etc).

(I’m not saying NARS is a bad product, it just isn’t for me. I do love their pencil lipsticks A LOT. I will do a review on my favorite lipstick soon!)

I had used Maybelline’s FIT Me foundation once before because I needed something ASAP and the closest Sephora to me is about 40 min away. I stopped by Walmart and I grabbed this because, well it was less than $6! I believe it runs for $5.94 at Walmart and I honestly couldn’t pass on it! I really liked it the first time I used it, but I got the wrong color. This second time around I grabbed the perfect color for my skin and lemme tell ya… I’VE BEEN BLESSED WITH THE PERFECT EVERYDAY FOUNDATION.

I am on the fair skin side with some olive tones (arms, legs, and basically the rest of my body), but I do have some red on my cheeks and on my nose. Because of this I was told that I needed to get something with a more pink undertone for my foundation.

I have found it to be really good on my skin because my skin is usually dry when I come out of the shower. I moisturize after the shower and allow it to set before applying any products on my face. My face tends to get really oily after a few hours of wearing makeup and it is sooooo annoying. I have to constantly tap some of the oil off and it’s really inconvenient. When I apply it I use either a brush or recently I’ve been applying with the EcoTools Blending Sponge and it is AH-MAZINGGGGG! I’ve found that my face doesn’t look as oily since it is a matte foundation.

I also started using the setting powder with the foundation. I used to not use this but I went ahead and tried it since I was told it could help with the oiliness..(is that a word?? it is now! HA!).

Here is a picture of me with the product on!

I applied the foundation with a foundation brush this day, but I do prefer using the sponge when applying liquid foundation!

This is a product that I will definitely be repurchasing. It is hard for me to let go of my favorite brands, but ladies & gents, sometimes just because it costs more does not mean it’s better. Everyone has different types of skin and it’s important for you to find something that goes well with your skin type. I had to learn the hard way by purchasing expensive foundations, but I have found that this foundation is for me!
